NEWS...
New band member!
True West has been fortunate to have the same cast of characters for about three years...ask any band, they'll
tell you it's rare to have people stay together in a group for that long. But even for us times change and so it is
with regret and thanks we bid adieu to Derm Whittaker, our able guitarist, vocalist, and scribe. Aside from
Derm's musical talents, we were fortunate to get to share his eclectic view of the musical world and an encyclopedic
knowledge of music arcania that's nothing short of amazing!
Because he wanted to concentrate of the fine duet he's in with Steve Malatesta, going by the name of Aunt Mimi, he felt it was time to step back.
Derm will continue to play with True West as a sub when called upon, we've already booked him in for a gig or two
near the summer's end. Although we're sad to see him leave, it's more like he's stepped into a stealth role and we still consider
him to be a member of the band.
Since there was a hole to fill with Derm's departure, we've been very fortunate to hook up with Allyn Dorr aka Aldo. Al's got
tons of band experience throughout New England, being particularly well known as a first-call bass player in the blues circuit. He has a long history
with one of New England's premier reggae bands, Loose Caboose. As soon as we can get him to stop swaying in time with the music we'll put
up a picture, but in the meanwhile come to a gig and meet him live!
We're really lucky to have someone of Aldo's musical skill joining the band, and he's fun to boot! Stay tuned for more info...
Check out our Myspace page! Our gigs, music and other info is posted, and you can do all the regular
Myspace things.

Friday (7/10):

We're in a Battle of the Bands competition. We're up against three other great bands so we're expecting some stiff competition. If we're fortunate enough to
win we move on to the finals, held in September. If we win that, then we get an opening act slot for one of the famous Nashville-based country acts that play Indian
Ranch every summer.
We hope you can make it out to help cheer us on to victory!

Back at our home club...the PC is always a blast to play. We got our start here almost three years ago and it's been a great journey ever since. The father and son
team that manage (Frank and Frank, Jr.) treat us well and makes sure the patrons have a good time. If all goes well the previous night, we'll be fresh off a win in a battle
of the bands at Indian Ranch, so we'll be fully jacked to play. Please join us.

Sunday (7/12):

The first outdoor show of the season for us; we can't wait! All the bad weather happened in June, so we're anticipating a pleasant late afternoon show. We're bringing
some modern country music to the Hamilton/Wenham part of Massachusetts, showcasing our fine lead vocalist singing the latest country hits and few standards you'll be sure
to recognize.
Pack a blanket and some snacks and finish up one of the precious summer weekends with a free performance in one of the prettiest settings you'll find in New
England. More info available on the series website.
